The Grosvenor Casino Russell Square is a medium sized casino situated in the forecourt of the Imperial Hotel, just off Southampton Row in the centre of London close to Bloomsbury. It has recently been acquired (in 2013) from Gala by the Rank Grosvenor group.
The casino is nine miles west of the nearest airport – London City Airport and 18 miles east of London Heathrow Airport. If you are arriving by car, the casino provides complimentary secure parking as well as a valet service from 6.00pm but don’t forget that you will have to pay the London Congestion Charge (£10 daily) if travelling by car between 07.00 and 18.00 any day from Monday to Friday. The nearest tube station is Russell Square (500 yards away) and the mainline stations of Euston and Kings Cross are under a mile away. Whilst the aforementioned Imperial Hotel is the nearest accommodation to the casino, there are, of course, hundreds of hotels to choose from. Also very close to the casino are the President Hotel, the Celtic Hotel and Hotel Russell.
The Grosvenor Casino Russell Square has regular gaming promotions including table and electronic tournaments. The ‘Open to All’ slots tournament has a £20 buy in but you keep what you win. The Casino pays cash prize money up to £800 - 50% for 1st, 30% for 2nd and 20% for 3rd. It is played from 9.00pm until midnight downstairs in the Electronic Lounge (ask in casino for more details). They also have jackpots of £10,000 on a selection of slot games. There are over 50 electronic roulette terminals with stakes from 10p to £100. The American roulette tables have minimum stakes of 50p and £1. However, no poker tournaments are held at the casino and there is one cash table. Their players reward scheme allows you to earn points every time you play, eat or drink at the casino which can be redeemed for various goodies.
Live sport is shown in the bar area and the casino features an a la carte restaurant (that is open 24 hours) which offers various options from French, Arabic, Indian and Chinese cuisines.

Casual crowd
This is a relaxed casual casino - and you wont find anyone in a tux. But it's pleasant enough for a few hands of blackjack or spins on the roulette wheel.
They also have electronic roulette machines that are connected to the main roulette tables, so you can bet on real roulette via a terminal (rather than the normal 'virtual roulette' machines, if that makes sense). The nice thing about this is that the table limits are a lot lower - adding to the casual feel of the place.
Nothing to dislike about the place, but nothing spectacular either.
The UK’s largest multi-channel casino operator.
The brand offers a range of popular casino table games, including roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker as well as electronic roulette and slot machine games. The digital channel continues to gain scale and offers many popular games including its very popular live casino.

Industry overview
Casinos in Great Britain offer a variety of traditional games of chance in a safe, social and highly regulated environment. Customers must be 18 years or older in order to play in a casino.
Staking levels are not capped (with the exception of electronic gaming machines) and are determined by the casino.
Under current legislation, the following activities must be offered under a 1968 Act casino license in Great Britain: casino table games (including American roulette, blackjack, stud poker, punto, banco, sic-bo and dice); electronic games (predominantely electronic roulette), gaming machines and card room games (including player-to-player poker and mah-jong). In addition, casinos typically include licensed bars and restaurants.
In Britain, due partly to restrictions on electronic gaming machines, the majority of casino revenue is generated by casino table games and their electronic equivalents.
