100% What I expected! Its amazing, compact, and super quiet but still have a tactile click!
Decided to finally get around to writing this, bought this keyboard about 6 months ago now. This is a beautiful keyboard there's no doubt about that, and typing on it feels great. I own a Ducky One 2 mini as well as an Anne Pro II and compared to those this feels like it's built like a house. I'm only going to give this 4 stars though because I honestly think Vortex should have improved the stabilisers on this one. I don't think it ruins the keyboard but at this price point, and considering this was already a complaint regarding the older Vortex keyboard, I just think this should have been addressed for a special edition release.
I'm not going to deduct a star for this but I also think some documentation written in plain simple English would have been the right way to go. I also don't really like that these keyboards don't have any software, gamers are buying 60 keyboards now, not just programmers and linux sysadmins. The onboard programming is not very difficult to get your head around but it's really not the point.
Anyway, I think if you don't mind a bit of rattle where there should be none and you don't mind zero software then you can't go wrong with this board. If I ONLY player fps games then I wouldn't care about no software, but I play an array of games and some of them really benefit from macros and the ability to load profiles through software. Not sure why the reviewer below left 1 star. I bought this keyboard as my 2nd 60% (first was an Anne Pro II) and so far the Pok3r is absolutely incredible. Sure it's frustrating when you accidentally bump fn 9 and enter the coloring layer, or (in my case) caps lock q for ctrl and then hit / and expect to comment out some code but instead enter another function layer, but those are problem with my key layout and not the keyboard. Programming is a breeze, the instructions are a little unclear but there's plenty of resources online to help guide you.
Build quality is pretty decent for what it is. I had to lube the switches out of the box because backspace and space bar squeaked pretty bad but this thing is HEAVY! I think it bounced around during shipping because the box arrived partially smashed and some of the keys appeared to have markings on them (I blame the mechanicalkeyboards.com shipping department for that). I got new keycaps and couldn't be happier with the keyboard. 5 stars all day long, worth every penny and I'm considering buying a second one for work.Keyboard is amazing, got mx silver switches. Thing is built like an absolute tank, 3lbs in a 60%. Easily the best typing experience I've had.
The case on this looks amazing with the led lights shining through. I personally didn't like the white key caps and swapped them for black and the board looks amazing. I don't recommend the silver switches. They are too light. I swapped the out for Zealios, but I'd recommend the other cherry mx switches instead. They are all solid. Make sure to read the instruction booklet for this keyboard before you buy it. There are a couple of keys that you cannot rebind and also Vortex does not provide a GUI to edit your keybinds. You have to do all of in directly on the keyboard, which can be annoying. This keyboard is very heavy. It's solid! I love having it on my desk, but the weight kills any ability to take it with me on the go. I highly recommend this keyboard as long as you are OK with the couple of shortcomings I mentioned above.
Horrible build quality. Programming the keys is incredibly difficult in part because the documentation is poorly translated but also because of the low build quality the sequence to program keys only works about 10 percent of the time. Even though it appears that the keys normally work the sequence needed to program the keys will only rarely activate, meaning that if you are programming a lot of keys it could take a very long time to get it right, requiring many restarts because you can't be sure what you are doing.
Would never buy a keyboard from Vortex again.
